All vehicles are equipped with specialist handling materials such as trolleys, skates, straps and ties to secure goods in transit. We also have access to all vehicles from small vans all the way through to 13.6m, 40 ton trailers, which can be used for either part loads or as dedicated vehicles.
In keeping with our environmental policy, all our own vehicles and vehicles used by our sub-contractors meet the most stringent emissions legislation in the UK and Europe and we ensure that all waste from vehicles such as oil, tyres, exhausts etc are recycled wherever possible.
Despite the specialised nature of the services Smartvan offer, in most cases we are able to respond to requests as diverse as furniture hoisting, installations, access checks, deliveries, manpower or site surveys within an hour or less, meaning that we offer the same response times as any courier company, for a much more complex range of scenarios.
Our London facility in Crouch End, comprises 30,000 square feet of space. We can provide efficient storage solutions incorporating stock control, client liaison, product management and repair from one location. We provide dedicated account handlers who know everything about the stock they are allocated to, so the client has one main contact that can help them at any time of the working day.
Our Cape Town facility in Killarney Gardens comprises a flexible space of up to 10,000 square feet. All the services and facilities that are available in the UK are available here.
All of our staff are trained in the installation and assembly of furniture. This may range from simply connecting a table top to a base and positioning 4 chairs in a clients home to an entire floor of desks, shelving and office equipment for an international banks new headquarters.
We can provide solutions to any fit-out project whether you need labour, specialist installers or just advice on how to approach a particular product. The product knowledge base of our team is constantly expanding due to our ongoing training programs, run in conjunction with manufacturers and suppliers.
There are many occasions where we find that goods are simply too large or too heavy, or that it is too dangerous to attempt to deliver by hand. We have developed methods and equipment which allow us to lift oversize items into places that they would not normally fit into.
Using trained aerial installers we are able to lift goods outside of the buildings they are destined for. We can remove doors and windows if required to facilitate access.
Whether it’s a simple props collection, a delivery or collection for a time critical photo shoot or organising and managing the logistics for a complete overseas film or TV production, Smartvan have a solution to your problems. We can collate goods at our London or Cape Town warehouses for onward distribution to shoot locations throughout the UK, Europe, South Africa or Worldwide.
We can co-ordinate imports and exports to and from foreign territories; including customs clearance, packing and freighting and onward distribution.
